Definition of Power

Power is such a broad term that it applies to almost every aspect in man’s life. It can refer to power that is used within the government such as economic power, political power, and military power. It can also mean the power coming from freedom that is rooted in the will, allowing man to choose for himself and to act based on his thoughts and decisions. Coming from a scientific point of view, power can refer to the source of electricity. According to thefreedictionary.com, power is “the ability or capacity to perform or act effectively”. It also defines power as the “strength or force exerted or capable of being exerted”. Based on the Webster Illustrated Contemporary Dictionary, power can mean “any agent that exercises control or dominion, e.g. naval power”.
